LUKE LAMOTTA

Luke LaMotta has built his musical identity around following a good idea wherever it leads. A bassist, producer, music director, composer, and arranger, he moves comfortably across genres and adapts to the musical world of each artist he works with. He currently performs with Amber Jane Taylor, Kyelen Arora, and Cam Marsalis, and has previously worked with Dylan Joseph, Chopteeth Afrofunk Big Band, and Velvet Mirage, which he co-founded. Along the way, he has also had the opportunity to perform with world-renowned musicians Frank Gambale, Greg Howe, Stu Hamm, and Mauricio Zottarelli.

Outside of his work with other artists, Luke creates progressive jazz-hop and is pursuing touring and composition for media, particularly video games. Games were a major part of his childhood and played an important role in his artistic development, shaping the way he thinks about music, atmosphere, and storytelling. Composing for games is a way for him to contribute to the same kind of experiences that first inspired his own creativity.
